1996 || The Slip

1996 is back and so is all the fashion trends that were then are back too, good and bad. Which included the slip dress which is slipping right back into everyones wardrobe.

The slip dress has always been an essential in my wardrobe, but with the revival of the 90’s they are having a serious come back. I am obsessed and I seem to have a Pokémon kind of obsessing with them, meaning that I to have them all in every colour and length. But as I mentioned before they have achieved holy grail status in my wardrobe because they are just so versatile. Here are 3 reasons why you need one.

  1. They are comfortable oh so comfy. You almost feel naked (but in a good kind of way, not in a “hello, look at me I am naked” kind of way).
  2. You can get them in any colour your heart desires, and there is a dress for very occasion.
  3. The are a simple and an effect outfit, whether it is styled like this (this dress can be found here) with an oversized blazer and pretty shoes for an evening. Or if you style one with an oversized knit over one and some trainers for the day time, one dress can get you through many events, therefore making it the most versatile thing in your wardrobe.

Here is my edit of all the slip dresses out there that you need for this spring/summer season. Whether it be a wedding, or an event or a holiday or just for everyday wear.

The Clutch I am wearing is from the lovely Sonali Dharmawardena, who is a fabulous designer from my little island of Sri Lanka, please check out her stuff here on her Instagram.
