Some investment pieces to get you excited for the autumn

Time to go shopping, just because the weather is confusing…

Autumn is my favourite time of year, because that means I can finally dress up and use all the clothes in my wardrobe. Despite me calling myself an island girl and loving the heat, my lover affair with summer and hot weather is always a short and tremulous one every year. But autumn, I love! You get to nest at home and avoid going out(because I am a granny on the inside), light all your candles and relax in your comfy jumpers. You also get to layer on all your favourite pieces and wear them all at once.  It is still quite a confusing time of year to dress because we are always at the mercy of little miss weather in London. Therefore, you need have a reason to shop and add some bits into your wardrobe and bridge the gap between summer dressing and autumn/winter dressing.

Outfit 1

This is more causal day time outfit, this Bella Freud jumper is a quite a classic but it now comes in a bunch of different colours, and because I am a bit of a magpie I picked up a sparkly one. The Gucci loafers are a staple for me and these sling back version of the traditional loafer is the perfect slip on and run pair of shoes. Wear some straight leg jeans, pop on a baker boy hat and grab a satchel and be on your merry way, looking very chic and put together.

Outfit 2

Metallic skirts are always a great piece to brighten up this miserable time of year, add a cosy knit and some comfy trainers to make this outfit very causal and to give it that “cool girl” vibe.

Outfit 3

I am a big fan of vinyl trousers or leather ones and they are an autumn staple in my wardrobe, and I find them so easy to style for an evening out (not that this little granny goes out much). It is great to wear them with even a slogan tee, some cute heels and a fun little bag and of course a dark lip, and you will be all dressed up…with somewhere fabulous to go.
